Madrasa

Nurturing Hearts. Shaping Character. Illuminating Futures.

At Masjid Umar, our Madrasah is built on a simple but powerful vision:
to provide every child with a strong Islamic foundation rooted in Qur’an, character, and knowledge — in a safe, caring and inspiring environment.

Over a decade, Masjid Umar has been a pillar of the Nottingham Muslim community. Today, our Madrasah continues that legacy by teaching children not only how to read and memorise the Qur’an, but how to live by its values every single day.

What We Offer

Qur’an & Qaida Programme

Our structured Qaida Nooraniyyah teaching ensures children learn accurate pronunciation, fluent recitation, and strong foundational skills. For advanced learners, we offer Qur’an reading, tajwīd support, and memorisation pathways.

Islamic Studies & Character Building

Alongside Qur’an learning, students study core Islamic knowledge:

  • Beliefs (Aqīdah)
  • Fiqh & daily worship
  • Manners & character (Akhlaq)
  • Seerah of the Prophet ﷺ

We focus on helping children embody Islamic values — kindness, honesty, respect, and responsibility.

Caring, Qualified Teachers

Our teachers are passionate, experienced, and dedicated to each child’s progress. With small class sizes and individual attention, we nurture confidence and love for learning.

A Safe, Supportive Learning Environment

We work closely with parents and maintain clear safeguarding procedures. The Madrasah is a place where every child is welcomed, encouraged, and given the chance to thrive.

Madrasah Timings

The Madrasah runs Monday to Thursday, from 5:30pm to 7:15pm. Students are expected to attend all sessions to ensure consistent learning and strong progress.
