Masjid Umar is a 4 storey large mosque located in the heart of Radford in Nottingham at the junction of Alfreton Road and Gregory Boulevard.
The building was purchased in mid 2007 and required substantial refurbishment to bring it to the condition it is in today. A dedicated team of volunteers from the local community worked tirelessly to repair each floor, and the building was officially opened in 2009 by the then Lord Mayor Gul Nawaz Khan and other community leaders.
The mosque is very busy being located within walking distance for much of Nottingham’s diverse muslim community. Each day over 150 local children also use the mosque for Quranic lessons. A range of other activities take place at the mosque and there are plans to increase these further.
